So this makes me mad.
someone in my church, altough my mom won't tell me who, told her that she heard from someone else (pure gossip...in church! and no facts) that my fiance tried to stab someone!
RIDICULOUS!
he had actually told me what happened much earlier, however, it involved no knife, just laundry detergent.
as it turns out, he was at a party (before he started coming back to church guys) and his girlfriend was passed out in someones room. when he went to go find her, he found a guy that unfortunetly i know, trying to rape her. he got really angry ( as would anyone) so he physically pulled this guy up by his shirt, picked him up, (was so mad he threw some laundry detergent on his shirt and was like, wow, that was pointless), and pushed him forcefully outside telling him to never touch her again.
well, this guy called the police and told them that nicolas had tried to stab him.
the police came to investigate, took peoples accounts, found no knife nor had anyone seen one, but he had to get a lawyer and go to court because this guy wanted to press charges. Well, with all of the evidence against him (the idiot guy, who actually once tried to get in my pants...yikes and eww), the charges got dropped, so Nicolas did not have to do anything or worry about it.
Until he was on his way to his apartment one day with a few friends, and this guy tried to Attack Nicolas! So Nicolas and his friends called the police, and the police handcuffed this guy but Nicolas did not press charges.
And that was the end of it, except the guy told some people that Nicolas (who doesn't even own a pocket knife or anything) tried to stab him at this party where he was attempting to rape Nicolas' girlfriend...I guess throwing laundry detergent and stabbing are synonomous?
basically the guy is slandering his name to make himself look better...leaving out some major details like he was trying to rape someone and there wasn't any knife...
Anyway, so some member of my church who was concerned that i might be marrying an attempted stabber told my mom that "she had heard from someone else that some McNeese student had told them that it was common knowledge that Nicolas was drunk and tried to stab someone."
Since it was all hearsay to begin with, if they were truly concerned, they would have investigated with the police (gotten the report) or simply asked Nicolas what happened before they spread this story all over church and then to my parents. Sadly none of it was based on fact and it only caused hurt and pain.
So tonight, Nicolas is getting a copy of the police report and having to bring 2 people that were there at the party to my mom to convince her what really happened, because even though she knows this was through several people and gossip, she now needs to be shown fact. Although she liked Nicolas up until yesterday and thought he was wonderful, she is now taking the gossiping words of people that she does not know over his because she has equated this with being the same situation as my sisters (she is 19, gay, and her girlfriend is her old youth minister). Makes sense, doesn't it? (read extreme sarcasm)
this, this is ridiculous. |
